Luna Consulting, LLC is a single-proprietor engineering company with a corporate engineering license located in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Ronaldo Luna is the managing and technical director with 30+ years of professional experience as a geotechnical engineer in North America and is licensed to practice in three states as a professional engineer. Dr. Luna has engaged in well-respected international consultancy responsible for various geotechnical and civil engineering projects specifically related to nuclear plants, disposal facilities, dams, levees, roadways, tunnels, excavations, bridges, deep excavations, and multistory buildings. He also specializes in geotechnical earthquake engineering, seismic design, site response, and liquefaction evaluation. Dr. Luna is well known within the Midwest with the Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, the Missouri and Illinois Departments of Transportation, and FHWA. His academic appointment as a professor and research contributions at several in different Universities in the Central U.S. has gained him respect among his peers

DESIGN: Stormwater Streambank Stabilization Design for St. Louis
Metropolitan Sewer District. Sub-consultant to prime on
geotechnical services.

CONSULTANT: Owensboro Medical Health Center, geotechnical
earthquake engineering, site response, liquefaction evaluation,
and ground improvement.

TRAINING: Association of State Dam Safety Officials, Instructor
for short course in basic soil mechanics related to earth dams;
structural behavior and monitoring of dams; and earth dam slope
stability.

FOUNDATIONS: FHWA micropile instrumentation and monitoring
and load transfer evaluation. DOT driven pile load tests to define
resistance factors for design

ITR: Tailings Dam, independent technical review in San Marcos,
Guatemala. Earth dam was designed as a 80-m high structure to
control and collect the effluent with a cut-off wall and re-circulate
from downstream location

FORENSIC: Post-Katrina Hurricane Damage Assessment. Team leader of engineers and scientists under contract with the USGS. On October 2005 this team focused on three themes for the damage assessment: (1) flood protection systems; (2) transportation systems; and (3) environmental impact in the sediments.
